Questions for Today

I’d like to start this post by saying this….My purpose for writing these posts is just to prompt us to think about where we are in our relationship with God.  And yes, we should be doing this often.  I am saddened at the spiritual  condition of most Christians I know.  I am also saddened at what I know they are missing out on.

This past Sunday, my good friend Larry Wilson preached a wonderful message and I will be using parts of this message in my next few posts.  He gave clear reasons for why we don’t acknowledge God in our everyday lives and then clear directives as to how to restore that relationship back to a healthy one.  I pray this will be of help to some of you who are stuck in that particular situation.

To begin this “series”  I want you to ask yourselves a few questions today.

Do you live each day with an awareness of God’s presence with you all the time?

Are you aware of all the aspects of His presence around you?

Is this awareness limited to just calling out to Him when you have exhausted all other options?

Has this awareness resulted in  a true friendship with Him?

Has sin caused you to avoid acknowledging His presence?

I’ll end with this reminder.  If you are His child, He never leaves you.  We may choose to ignore Him but He is still there.  When we feel alone it’s not because we are.  He’s still there waiting for you to turn to Him and start talking or cry out to Him.

This is one of my favorite post. He did an awesome job sharing God’s Word with us and as you know my sister, Rea, was there (Rea has just been discharged from a rehab for substance abuse/addiction and she has talked and talked about it. She was amazed at how everything she was learning in rehab correlated with biblical principles.
I too, need to open my heart to meditate on what he preached because I and I am sure most others do as well, have those skeletons in our closet and we may forget that that particular skeleton bone may be affecting our relationship with God. Looking forward to hearing the rest of what you have to share!!!
